About

This site was created for a Renewable Natural Resources course at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. The course was taught by Chris Paradise and Fuji Lozada in Spring of 2016. In this course,we focus on developing a interdisciplinary understanding of natural resources by studying their use by humans and how renewable resources are then used, overused, managed and conserved by humans. On this site, we seek to explore the issues surrounding federal and state owned land used for cattle grazing in Nevada. This case study examines the ecological and economic effects of current practices, past court decisions, and current events surrounding grazing in Nevada. Through this study we develop a policy recommendation to improve current grazing and land use policy in Nevada that will lead to greater environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
